Excellent tool, great origin of words as well as synonyms. Offline version would be welcome as well as a greater phraseology. Recommended 10/10 overall.

This is great app for supporting your desire to learn and expand your vocabulary. Easy to use.

FYI regarding no volume during word pronunciations. My iPhone has the volume button on and at about medium, I have audio in all other apps. M-W Dictionary app can hear me say words and present options. When I press on the pronunciation speaker icon I can see it twirl like its saying the word to me but I cannot hear it. Shut phone off and rebooted; deleted app and reinstalled; checked sound settings...no joy. Then I recalled that I have recently installed the Directv Now app and have its volume off, which seems to operate at a different level of my iPhone operating system. I opened DIRECTV Now and turned up the volume, relaunched Merriam-Webster Dictionary app and can now hear the pronunciations. Boom! :)

This app is so awesome making it fast & easy to Continue my writing of Letters, essays or account Information. The option of being able to speak the word, then have the app. Furnish either the spelling or definition the word helps Tremendously. Thank you!

Easy to use

The Webster dictionary app is indispensable. It seems that as I get older ( Im 61 y/o ) that my skill with diction requires a little more effort to maintain and this app helps keep me stay sharp. I cant imagine being without it!

Handy dandy definition search engine for those rare times when you run across a word you dont know; need the antonym or synonym of a word; or just any of your possible word-related needs. Also, not going to lie, the little word games and quizzes can be a neat way to pass a minute or two. 10 out of 10, would word again.

This app is fantastic. I use it almost every day. I like the "Word of the Day" feature. The voice recognition of a particular word is very helpful in making sure one has the best meaning, usage and spelling is correct. Occasionally the voice recognition has problems if the word isnt pronounced correctly but I can over look that. The history of a word is fascinating to read and understand. There isnt a thing about this app that I dont like. The games are also fun for your brain. If you do a lot of writing of documents, e-mail, etc. like I do this app is a requirement.
