Just scratching the surface I love this. I hated school and I regret not taking opportunity of resources at the time but Im quite confident with the help of this Dictionary my vocabulary will grow ten fold.

Great resource and even better games!

Constant reminders about playing games. I bought this for the dictionary, not as a toy — please make a secondary app for the games, and leave this app as a reference tool.

This will be short but not so sweet. This app was adequate. This if my first review of any app. I dont have time for games... There for even though I pay for the app to get rid of the ads they throw the dumb game at me. So you have make me delete it and I will never reload it again.

Many words I look up arent listed. But if I Google them they show up on Mirriam-Websters website. Why is the app version incomplete?

Whomever the Genius that added GAMES to this app (instead of more usage/intellectual) content, has marred the reputation of an iconic dictionary, turning it sadly, into a panacea for every new halfwit that plays them--but only on the days that the cables shutoff, while they snack on sammiches & vow to someday "go to that-there-pyramid (jus like them ones theys gots up ta Egypt) and shoots them-there golf balls inta the groundlin!" At the risk of spoiling the outcome of this asinine-idea, I will enlighten the "Genius" game developer/all involved by merely stating the obvious--its all your fault!! Incidentally, DICTIONARY.com -the app is AMAZING & offers great features that will enhance your intellect ....w/o games!!

Be aware that as you upgrade, a whole new App is installed. Data saved does not transfer, but the old app does not delete. Like the early look better, I dont care about quiz, just want a plain dictionary.

Not sure why so many dislike the new games. I became instantly addicted when I got past the baby, boring levels. I would suggest getting to the higher ones if you havent played much. They are impressive; its a fun way to brush up on vocab and learn new words! Also great that these are available to all. I do, however, empathize with those who dislike the game center being the homepage. Seems odd to display that first since its websters but I dont care. Cheers!

This app is so easy to use. I love the Word of the Day feature. I also enjoy the Did you Know... Section under each definition that explains the origin and history of each word. Such a treat for word lovers like me! Thank you for this fabulous app!

Ive been using the free version for a long time and loved it! (The only thing I didnt love were the ads, so I finally upgraded.) I love that you can touch any word within a definition and go to the definition for that word. I love the voice lookup and audio pronunciation features. I LOVE THE NEW GAMES! Perhaps just add a setting option to hide them for all the complainers. Some other improvement ideas for future versions: I would LOVE to be able to play a custom vocabulary game generated from my favorites list (also, a favorites list transfer option for people who upgrade from the free version would be really nice). I also wish I could integrate the loved features mentioned above with iBooks and Kindle (maybe even web browsers?) as their built in dictionaries dont have these features. Thanks!

I really like the premium app. However one thing to improve is to add a scrolling index like in the iPad version. Its fun to scroll around and run into some words randomly. And I cant carry my iPad always with me.

Ive had this app for four years, and its been flawless the entire time. Each update continues making what is already great even better. I enjoy the seamless movement from word to word and from dictionary to thesaurus. The voice feature saves me from embarrassing public mispronunciations. Lastly, this app never crashes.

Should rename this game to "word game with definitions" instead of calling this game dictionary.

Will this all EVER finish downloading? I had enough time to sleep for 9 hours and its in the same spot that I left it.

Fantastic app overall! Games are fun and challenging and user interface is exceptionally smooth and friendly. Overall my favorite feature is being able to tap any word in the definition and be able to read that words entry. Probably the most useful, time saving function in any dictionary app.

Good source of knowledge. More etymologies please.

A joy to use, can you add the ability to share a word via messages or texting.

There really is no need for this App if you use Google or Bing or any other search engine. The database of words is pathetically poor. So many time the searched word is not there. Why bother? It really is a bait to draw the user in to a game that has in-app purchases. I dont use a dictionary for common words I know. It seems that most of the words I do not know are not known or available to the app either. Its gone!
